rVetLink did not send a fax

If rVetLink does not send a fax to a referring practice without a configured email address, the practice cannot receive the applicable patient update. Make sure that you do a check every day for faxes that do not send.

If the referring practice has a configured email address in rVetLink, it is not necessary to send faxes.

rVetLink does not have the correct fax number of the referring practice.
Note: If the fax number of the referring practice is not correct, change the fax number in your PIMS.
  1. Select Administration.

    rVetLink shows the rVetLink Administration screen in a new browser tab.
  2. Select Notifications.

  3. In the right column of the applicable fax, select the pencil icon.
    rVetLink shows the Edit Fax dialog box.
  4. In the Fax Number box, enter the fax number of the referring practice.

  5. Set Update Profile to On.

    rVetLink changes the fax number of the referring practice.
  6. Set Update All Failed Faxes to On.

    rVetLink changes the fax number for all faxes with Failed status sent to the applicable practice.
  7. Set Update All Pending Faxes to On.

    rVetLink changes the fax number for all faxes with Pending status sent to the applicable practice.
  8. Select ✓ Resend.

The fax line of the referring practice was busy.
Note: If rVetLink has the correct fax number of the referring practice, a busy fax line is usually the cause.
  1. Select Administration.

  2. Select Notifications.

  3. In the right column of the applicable fax, select the pencil icon.
    rVetLink shows the Edit Fax dialog box.
  4. Select ✓ Resend.

  5. In the left column, select all other faxes that rVetLink did not send to the same referring practice.
  6. Select Resend Busy.
    rVetLink sends all faxes that it did not send to the referring practice previously.
