A specialty or emergency practice provides access to rVetLink for practices of referring veterinarians.

To provide access, a specialty or emergency practice sends a username and password to a referring veterinary practice. The username and password belong to the clinic, not to one person. As a result, the whole referring veterinarian practice shares one username and password to sign in to rVetLink.

When a specialty or emergency practice adds a referring veterinary practice to rVetLink, the referring veterinarian practice receives a welcome letter.

The welcome letter includes:

• A link to the rVetLink portal
• The username for the referring veterinary practice
• A temporary password
• Information about rVetLink screens
• Information to contact the specialty or emergency practice (for example, phone number and email address)

The referring veterinarian uses the username and temporary password from the welcome letter to sign in to rVetLink for the first time.
