About the template text editor
Use rVetLink's text editor to configure the templates for emails and faxes that rVetLink automatically sends to referring practices.
In the text editor, enter text and use the style and format options to configure the template as necessary.
Merge words
Use merge words in the text editor to add information that rVetLink automatically enters differently for each applicable referring practice. For example, a template includes the merge word [Pet-Name]. When rVetLink uses the template to make communications, it replaces [Pet-Name] with the name of the applicable patient.
Use the tag button to add a merge word.
This table gives frequently used merge words and the information that each merge word adds to referring practice communications:
| Merge word type | Information that the merge word adds to communications |
|---|---|
| Deep Link | A link to the applicable patient in the Patient Chart screen Note: When rVetLink customer support installs rVetLink, they add deep links to all notification templates. If you want your template to have a deep link, do not remove the word here that has a blue color. |
| DVM | Merge words that have DVM at the start add information about your practice to the template. Note: If your organization only has one hospital, you can enter practice information directly in the template as an alternative to merge words. |
| Visit Type | The specialty or department that the referring practice referred the patient to |
| Appointment Date | The date of the patient's appointment |
| Appointment Time | The time of the patient's appointment |
| Event Date | The date that rVetLink sent the notification |
| Event Time | The time that rVetLink sent the notification |
| RDVM | Merge words that have RDVM at the start add information about the referring practice to the template |
| Update Files | A link to files that have information about the patient's treatment Note: The Update Files merge word is only available for patient update notifications. |
