Configuration settings

You can make changes to contact information for your practice, configure search results, and configure notification settings.

To configure rVetLink, use the Profile and Settings screen. To get access to the Profile & Settings screen, select the Profile & Settings tab.

Note: rVetLink automatically uses information from the specialty or emergency practice to enter the initial information about your organization.

Select Update to save changes that you make in the Profile & Settings screen.

Your organization's contact information

When you refer a patient, rVetLink automatically enters contact information from the Profile & Settings screen in the applicable boxes of the Referring Veterinarian Information section.

This table gives each box in the Profile & Settings screen and how to use it.

Practice NameUse Practice Name to enter the name of your practice.
AddressUse Address to enter the address of your practice.
Address 2If necessary, use Address 2 to enter more practice address information.
CityUse City to enter the city of your practice.
StateUse State to select the state of your practice..
Zipcode / Postal codeUse Zipcode / Postal Code to enter the postal code of your practice.
PhoneUse Phone to enter the phone number of your practice.

Search result configuration

Use the Show Search Results at Login box to set which patients the Patient Chart screen shows after you sign in. You can show patients with medical information that was updated today, yesterday, last week, or last month.

Notification settings

When it is necessary for the specialty or emergency practice to send an update (for example, when the referred patient arrives at their practice), rVetLink sends notifications to the applicable referring practice.

Note: The specialty or emergency practice sets which notification settings are available.
To make sure referring practices receive the notifications, use the Notification Settings section to make changes to:
  • Your practice's fax number
  • Email addresses
  • The types of notifications sent to each email address

This table gives each setting related to the notification settings and how to use it.

SettingHow to use the setting
Fax NumberTo make sure you organization receives the necessary fax notifications, use the applicable fax settings.
Note: You can configure only one fax number for each practice.
Email AddressesTo make sure your practice staff receive the necessary email notifications, use:
  • The plus button to add email addresses
  • The pencil button to make changes to the notifications that an email address receives
  • The trash button to remove email addresses
Appointment rVetLink sends this notification when a specialty or emergency practice makes an appointment for a referred patient.
Check In rVetLink sends this notification when a referred patient arrives at a specialty or emergency practice.
Update rVetLink sends this notification when a specialty or emergency practice sends medical records for a referred patient.
Note: To receive records from specialty or emergency practice, you must set the Update notification option to On.
Check OutrVetLink sends this notification when a referred patient leaves a specialty or emergency practice.
DeceasedrVetLink sends this notification when a specialty or emergency practice reports a referred patient as deceased.
