About the Patient Referrals screen

You can use the Patient Referrals screen to monitor, update, and remove referrals.

To get access to the Patient Referrals screen, select the Patient Referrals tab.

In the Patient Referrals screen, you can do these actions:
  • Find a referral
  • Show referral information
  • Make changes to a saved referral and send it
  • Make changes to a sent referral and send it again
  • Remove a referral
  • Download an XLSX file that contains information about all referrals in the Patient Referrals screen

This table shows options that you can use to refresh, filter, and change the sequence of referrals:

Curved arrow buttonSelect the curved arrow to refresh the referrals.
Filter buttonSelect the filter button on the column name to filter the list of referrals.

When you select the filter button, you can choose a filter option and enter a keyword to see the necessary referrals. For example, you can show only referrals with the Submitted status.

Column nameSelect the column name to change the sequence of referrals.

When you select the column name, the column shows an up arrow icon. rVetLink uses this column to change the sequence of referrals.

For example, you can select the Patient column name to change the sequence of referrals based on the patient name, in alphabetical sequence.

If you select the Patient column name again, the column shows a down arrow icon and the sequence of referrals changes to reverse alphabetical sequence.

Columns of the Patient Referrals screen

The Patient Referrals screen shows information about referrals in a table. Each column has a filter to find a referral.

This table gives the name of each column and the information that it shows.

PracticeThe Practice column shows the name of the practice that received the patient referral.
PatientThe Patient column shows the name of the patient.
SpecialtyThe Specialty column shows the department of the specialty or emergency practice that received the patient referral.
StatusThe Status column shows the status of the referral.
DateThe Status Date column shows the date and time when your staff saved or submitted the referral.

Patient referral statuses

The Status column in the Patient Referrals screen shows if the referring practice staff completed the referral or made changes to it.

This table gives the name of each status and what the referring practice staff did for the applicable referral.

Submitted Staff of the referring practice sent the referral.
Not-Yet Submitted Staff of the referring practice saved the referral but did not send it.
Update Not-Yet Submitted Staff of the referring practice sent the referral, then made an update to it, but did not send the updated information
Update Submitted Staff of the referring practice sent the referral, then made an update to it, then sent it again

Buttons of the Patient Referrals screen

The Patient Referrals screen shows buttons that you can select to view, update, or remove referrals.

This table gives each button, the status of each referral that the button shows for, and the button's function.

Select the document button to show the referral as PDF.

Select the pencil button to make changes to saved referral. For example, you can make changes to the client information or add patient files.

Select the pencil button to make changes to a sent referral. For example, you can make changes to the client information or add patient files.

Filters of the Patient Referrals screen

To make it easier to find a referral, use the filters in each column of the Patient Referrals screen.
